Toughened Glass

Toughened Glass, also known as Tempered Glass is a strong glass compared to its’ Annealed Glass ( raw glass) version. The Tempered Glass is thermally heat treated to induce compressive strength of 10,000 to 20,000 psi on the surface and also edge compression of not less than 9,700 psi. Tempered Glass is 4-5 times stronger than equivalent thickness of Annealed Glass.

Toughened Glass is 4-5 times stronger than Annealed Glass and at the same time, it is very safe as it, if breaks, breaks in to small harmless fragment reducing the chances of injury.

THERMAL SHOCK RESISTANCE

Can withstand high temperature variations i.e. greater than 200 degrees Celsius

Recommended by all reputed Architects to use the Toughened Glass in high rise buildings because of its’ ability to withstand heavy wind loads
